Research Warning: Archives Department Land Deeds are indexed alphabetically by grantor name (seller) and grantee name (buyer) and date of recording, not date that transaction/deed/ instrument was entered into. In 19th to mid-20th Century St. Louis, many real estate buyers did not bring in their deeds to be recorded in a timely manner. The difference between the date of a transaction and date of recording may differ by as much as decades.
Research Warning: It is extremely rare to find structure information, other than restrictions, in a real estate deed.
