Missouri has 115 counties including the City of St. Louis.

  • The County Recorder of Deeds records and preserves land deeds, issues and preserves marriage records, records and preserves Military Discharge papers submitted by veterans, and accepts and maintains Home School Declarations.
  • The County Assessor assesses property for taxation purposes, maintains records of taxable real estate (title abstracts) and personal property, and where, in applicable counties, a real estate Certificate of Value is filed when a deed is to be recorded.
