Bride and Groom

No Marriage By Proxy in Missouri



  • The Bride and Groom must appear together at the Recorder of Deeds to make the Marriage License Application.

  • The Bride and Groom must appear together at the marriage ceremony where the Marriage License is used.

Four states in the United States permit
Marriage by Proxy:

California (only U.S. Military personnel stationed overseas in a conflict or war)


Colorado


Montana (double-proxy allowed)
