Marine Veteran of A-Bomb Blast Requests Record

The St. Louis City Recorder and Registrar Office received a record request Wednesday from a former St. Louis resident. What was unusual about the request is that the customer identified himself as a former Marine (one of 2,150 Marines) involved in the May 1, 1952 Yucca Flat atomic bomb exercise (part of Operation TUMBLER-SNAPPER) and that the requested record was for filing a a claim under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act.
The certified copy he requested was sent out in today's mail.
