In Missouri, your Military Discharge may be brought to your County Recorder of Deeds for recordation at no fee.
- After you are discharged, record your Military Discharge in the county you reside.
- When you move, record your Discharge in your new county of residence.
- When you need a copy of your Discharge, contact the Recorder in the county that you recorded it.

Veterans Residing in St. Louis City-
Please bring your Military Discharge (complete Discharge papers including DD214) to Room 124 at City Hall for the St. Louis City Recorder and Registrar to record it at no fee.
By recording your Discharge with us, you or your surviving spouse can obtain a free copy when the need arises. Think of us as a free Safe Deposit Box for your Military Discharge.
Military Discharge papers recorded with Missouri's county Recorders are closed records under Missouri law, accessible by only the Veteran, surviving spouse, and special third parties identified by Missouri Statute.
